Our Scholarship Programme

CFUW Niagara Falls supports local female students.

In 1944 the first CFUW Niagara Falls Scholarship of $10 was awarded to Mrs. Freda Orr and since then, in its 90 year existence, the club has awarded over $110,000. In 1993 the CFUW Scholarship Trust Fund was established to facilitate issuing tax receipts to our donors and since this change, over $68,000 in scholarships has been awarded.

The Awards Include:

  • Five Scholarships - one for each of the five local high schools, to be awarded to a female student proceeding to university
  • Helen Tarr Scholarship awarded to the female high school graduate with the highest average entering a university business related program
  • Grace Bishop Book Prize awarded to the female high school graduate with the highest average entering a university
  • Brock University bursary awarded to a mature student from Niagara Falls
  • Pat Meikle Memorial Bursary which is awarded to a female Brock University student from Niagara Falls with a preference made to 3rd or 4th year education students
